Just a thread of thoughts/observations on the state of this primary:

Covering electability and policy as wholly unconnected issues convinces ppl that politicians who make them feel good are the same as those who can actually help them. Voters get played when the media does this.
It's wild that Warren was endlessly scrutinized over how to pay for medicare-for-all but was then ignored once she provided a detailed answer. Meanwhile, other candidates were never asked what would happen to the millions of people left behind under their more "moderate" plans...
The fact that the media has also convinced people that what the gov says it can afford matters more than how unaffordable the status quo is for its poorest citizens is straight up sad. According to the gov, big banks are "too big to fail," but you aren't.

Republicans have made it clear that they have no intention of working with Democrats on anything but cutting social safety nets. Meanwhile, moderate Democrats insist on treating the appeasement of Republicans as pragmatism in policy. This is how politics fail to lift up the poor.
Never-Trumpers have an outsized yet unearned voice in Dem politics. And the same ppl who rightfully called out Rogan's transphobia gleefully amplify Islamophobes when they share a target. Too many people look the other way when it's politically expedient.

Voter suppression should be as big of a story as foreign interference, if not bigger:

"Journalists aren’t paying enough attention to this huge story in front of their eyes. Instead, news organizations are obsessed, as always, with horse-race coverage"

2 different things can be true at once: the Bernie supporters who simply want healthcare and a fairer economy far outnumber the so-called "Bernie Bros," but those who prioritize trolling and settling scores over building a coalition do so to the detriment of their own candidate.
Biden seems intent on challenging Trump without challenging the system that allowed Trump to happen in the first place. This may be enough for his supporters, but those who view defeating Trump as the floor (and not the ceiling) shouldn't be dismissed as engaging in purity tests.
Both Bernie and Biden are too dismissive of the demographics they've failed to win over so far. Bernie has yet to come up with a proper response when questioned about this, but Biden is never questioned about this at all.
If Bernie had been caught lying about being arrested in South Africa for trying to visit Mandela in a misguided effort to appeal to Black voters, it would've been an exponentially bigger story. Anyone who says otherwise is being intellectually dishonest.

I seriously doubt that hashtags used for trolling political opponents have ever managed to change a single person's vote. Combining your efforts to educate people on the issues would be a much more effective way to win them over. Just sayin.
I don't pretend to know everything, but I do know this: Nothing makes you smaller than refusing to acknowledge when you have room to grow. And if people held the candidates they support as accountable as the ones they don't, elections would be much more fruitful (and bearable)...
It's also wild how many ppl on here still think *their* candidate is the exception. Lol.
