I’m sure some people think there is a lot of talk about Coronavirus. I’m frankly surprised there’s not more.
Italy sounds completely overwhelmed. That’s looking like us I two weeks. The President is continuing to downplay the threat, which will get more people sick.

People aren’t good with probabilities, statistics, really any kind of math. People are *shockingly* ignorant about basic biology. A disturbing number of people still walk around like it’s 1220 and think we still don’t really know “why people get sick” beyond “God wills it.”
And even people who DO understand are more worried about appearing “paranoid” or “gullible” or something, instead of risking being overly cautious. Like there’s going to be a big “I told you so” prize if somehow things aren’t as bad as they look like they’re going to be.
It. Is. LUDICROUS for people to be congregating in public right now. It is UNNECESSARY.
If you know an older person, OFFER TO SHOP FOR THEM. Get in, get out, don’t touch anything you don’t have to, and wash your hands.

Beyond picking up necessities, everybody who can should be sheltering in place. And the government should be coming up with a plan for those who can’t.
