Florida, Illinois, and Ohio have each declared states of emergency in response to the coronavirus outbreak. It has resulted in cancellations and postponements.

State governments, with support from Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, should reschedule primaries for May. #COVID19
This would be particularly good for down ballot races in the Democratic Party primary. City, county, and state races will likely benefit from higher turnout by rescheduling these primaries. #COVID19
State governments can keep resources focused, and they would not need to worry about the distraction of running primaries while they are in the middle of dealing with a pandemic that could result in deaths in their state. #COVID19
Polling place workers would not be at risk of coming into contact with the coronavirus while they are managing a precinct location. #COVID19
It would not give Trump an excuse to delay the election in November. These decisions would be made by the state governments, not the federal government. So rescheduling would not be a precedent for him to cancel Election Day. #COVID19
This is the May schedule for Democratic primaries:

May 2
Kansas

May 5
Indiana

May 12
Nebraska
West Virginia

May 19
Kentucky
Oregon

Either May 5, May 12, or May 19 would do.

We could call it Super Tuesday 3. #COVID19
The DNC probably has to agree, but would they really put voters and polling place workers at risk of getting sick and oppose states that asked to move their primary because they are dealing with the outbreak? #COVID19
