Hi Twitterverse.

I get it. You're young, you're healthy, and you're not worried about #COVID19. Give me a chance to tell you why you should be in this #tweetorial. (1/10)
You've heard about this every day in the media. You think that everybody is scaremongering, and you think that those people hoarding toilet paper are crazy. via @dataisbeautiful (2/10)
The @WHO has declared #COVID19 a #pandemic today. That means that we're seeing #COVID19 spreading around the world. This is the real deal. (3/10)
Do you know anybody over the age of 60? Anybody with cancer, high blood pressure, lung issues, diabetes, or heart disease? We know that they die more from #COVID19, even when we give them the absolute best care that our healthcare systems can offer. via @infobeautiful (4/10)
The problem is, in some countries, we're getting to the point where we can no longer give some of our patients the best care - there's simply too many. #COVID19 theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/… via @TheAtlantic (5/10)
Italy is not a country without resources - but because of how fast #COVID19 has spread, they just don't have enough beds and they don't have enough equipment. Other developed countries are following the same rapid spread of the disease - via @MarkJHandley (6/10)
We know that how we prepare for #COVID19 makes a difference. South Korea has the most confirmed cases outside of China, but their death rate is only 0.7%. Expansive testing and #selfisolation works. It's not pretty, it's not fun, but it slows down the spread of the virus. (7/10)
That's the crux of all of this: slowing down the spread of the virus enough so that your own country's healthcare system will have a bed for your loved one if the times comes. As more healthcare workers get exposed to #COVID19, resources will only dwindle. via @elboghdadly (8/10)
So please - don't let our system get overwhelmed. None of us ever want to say "this person is too sick to be helped". I don't want to tell that to you when you bring in your loved one. But it's happening elsewhere, and it can happen here. (9/10)
Take #selfisolation seriously. Make sure your government leaders know how important it is to get a handle on this #pandemic. The @WHO has rung nearly every bell that it can about #COVID19 to warn us. Now it's our job to protect the people that we love. #FlattenTheCurve (10/10)
