One GOP beef is that the Dem bill puts SSA in charge of paying leave benefits.

On the other hand, SSA is already a bureaucracy that literally exists to give out money.

New bureaucracy is an inevitable part of a new benefit. Makes one wonder if it's not really the mechanism that's at issue.
Maybe Mitch McConnell would prefer if the Federal Reserve paid leave benefits to laid off and quarantined workers.
