Please make sure you’re following @CarleePurdumPhD in these COVID-19 times!

She has been posting really important information about incarcerated populations.

Actually, let’s make this a thread.

You should follow @USofDisaster for some disaster history takes and thought provoking questions like this:

I’ve recommended everyone follow @DrNLouissaint like 1000 times but one more wont hurt.

She is brilliant on all things public health/ emergency management and runs @HC_Ready which you should also follow.
For confusing legal/ policy things my go-to is @disaster_lawyer.

Like, searching through the Stafford Act in the middle of the night kinda tweets!
For broader context on disasters generally you should be following @KsChmutina and @vonmeding who also host the @DisastersDecon podcast which I was just on with @wesinjapan (who you should also follow) talking about COVID-19.

You should follow some actual emergency managers too. Highly recommend @k8hutton.

(Amen to this tweet especially!)
Another excellent emergency manager to follow (also in California... 🤔) is @Jdlazo.

Great individual prep tips here:
You should go just scroll through @JimWhittington’s feed because there are endless insights.

Love this thread in particular:
For pandemic reporting and general disaster/ healthcare there is no one in the world better than @sherifink.

You know her from the book “Five Days at Memorial” during Katrina, she’s a producer on Netflix’s show Pandemic, and wrote this game changing New York Times story:
Important to be following @JamieVickery for more on how COVID-19 is particularly harmful for those experiencing homelessness.
