We had to wait 1 1/2 hrs before we could even get in. They put me in isolation room after full decontamination from last patient. I was there 11 hours. Chest X-ray which had to come to me, bloods, swabs, drip. I have to wait for results, self isolate for 2 wks. #HighRiskCovid19 >
2 paramedics had to take me home in ambulance, which then had to be decontaminated. The drs & nurses were amazing, but all on their knees with exhaustion. People had stolen hand gel & masks from the hospital so they had to wear inefficient wear paper ones #HighRiskCovid19 >
#HighRiskCovid19 There were 20 isolation rooms, all full. Each one has to be decontaminated, then left for half an hour before the next patient can go in. No one can go in without changing all their protective clothing. Each time. I live 10 minutes from the hospital and >
I’m hearing about 12 sirens all day, through the night. Because I have to self isolate my carers can’t come in. I’m left without support. If they have to self isolate - same. So PLEASE, don’t be selfish, wash your hands, clean surfaces & keep #SocialDistancing #HighRiskCovid19 >
Lastly, a massive #NHSThankYou to our wonderful, selfless NHS staff, Drs, paramedics, nurses, cleaners, porters, admin, lab staff, radiologists. #SocialDistancing is vital & #selfisolating We must protect our NHS staff too. If they go down, we all go down. #HighRiskCovid19
my carers are terrified that if they have to self isolate & I have to self isolate again they won’t be paid. One also works at a school & for lots of elderly clients. They won’t get support either. So PLEASE wash yr hands, #selfisolate & keep #SocialDistancing #HighRiskCovid19
Also, a massive shout out to the amazing people who are delivering parcels, medication, shopping. They’re also on their knees. Tesco delivery man had damaged his back carrying heavy crates. Please be considerate of others. Help neighbours. #HighRiskCovid19 #SocialDistancingNow
This thread getting longer! Also please only go to GP if vital & don’t go if you have symptoms. when I initially phoned about my symptoms 2 GPs off sick, no phone appts for 2 weeks. If our GPs go down we all go down. #HighRiskCovid19 #selfisolating #SocialDistancing >
And huge thanks to all on NHS 111. I was triaged 3 times, twice for 20 mins and lastly for 40 mins. All lovely, kind, reassuring. Paramedics were with me for 40 mins at home and 2 hours in ambulance before I could be admitted. #HighRiskCovid19 #SocialDistancingNow #selfisolating
And I cannot visit my parents who are super- #HighRiskCovid19 They rely on a Carer , who won’t be able to go if she has to #selfisolate so they will be left with no support. I may not see them again. 😢
I phone GP to ask how/when I’ll get test results. Ans 1, they will phone you. Ans 2: they will phone only if positive, GP’s don’t get test results, phone NHS111. 111 message says we cannot help with testing queries. Phoned local hospital, cannot get through... > #HighRiskCovid19
