Our public health colleagues have been doing a brilliant job with #covid19UK but we do not have the equivalent public mental health support. This is a thread of resources that have emerged so far.

Mental health is fundamental about social health and is not a DIY project.
Reducing distress and stress is a collective effort and does not just mean access to anxiety management resources (although this is also important). It means ensuring people have plans to know their jobs are protected, plans for managing c19 related debt or job loss....
Have access to adequate sick pay and that universal credit does not take the usual 5 weeks to kick in as well as that these payments are enough to support families.

Have access to food still if they relied on free school meals or community food share programmes.
These are some of the key social factors that will put strain on our ability to stay well and would increase our need to access NHS care for physical or mental health needs if not addressed seriously during the pandemic.

Only 10% of our health needs are met by health services
We need to consider the following as well;

Will people still have access to;

Good food
Resources and money
Good housing
Education
Good surroundings
Relationships and connections
A job longer term

Those already disadvantaged will carry the greater burden during this time
