Trump will get impeached for abuse of power but he won’t use his power to commandeer a war effort PPE mask manufacturing machine like no other. He campaigned on revitalizing manufacturing. But he’s waiting for the worst case scenario. He’s not protecting his medical army. At all.
He only knows how to use the government to enrich himself and cheat on elections. He doesn’t know how to harness its power to achieve. Same with Jared. It’s going to be so awful once doctors and nurses die because they couldn’t get them PPE. Countless preventable deaths ensue.
I did a thread on PPE this morning. I accidentally know about it because of Ebola virus. I’m really worried about what’s going on.
It’s entirely within the realm of possibility that abject mismanagement of PPE production and allocation will result in mass deaths and the need for foreign HCWs to volunteer to work on the frontlines in the US. But we can’t even assume they’ll be allowed in.
Trump’s grudge with Bezos means he won’t even offer him a corrupt government deal to solve the delivery logistics. This entire disaster will be framed through one man’s pathology.

Not only is it demogogically useful and anti-scientific to use a divisive name for COVID19 but it also conveniently deflects how authoritarian China beat the virus and authoritarian America isn’t ready for it.
If you’re trying to be a strongman at least be good at it. Protect your most precious assets (HCWs) and lavish them with protection (PPE). Can he survive the media narrative of dead doctors because they didn’t have PPE?
