Doctors in China stopped the spread by testing to find the sick, isolating, and modeling the spread. They found there are 5 undetected cases for every 1 detected - and they were actually testing at a large scale. We are not. (2/x)

We are so far behind in testing that is not possible to catch up in time with all the exposed cases. There are hundreds of social media posts of people and health care workers who are sick, but cannot be tested. (4/x)
The only logical conclusion is to force #SocialDistancing by a #ShelterAtHome order. Every day we delay, more people are infected and infectious. Doing this would allow for our increasing test capacity to catch up, and give us a chance. (5/x)

Because telling hard truths is hard, and elected leaders want to be liked above all else. What is right vs what is easy.
