2) First, @ElsevierConnect promised full access to COVID-19 science. This clinical trial is BLOCKED on @ScienceDirect. Slow, inept, or just not paying attention? People are dying! Elsevier must either help us fight for humanity or we will replace them with a publisher who will. 
3) Because why the heck does @ElsevierConnect go back on their promise and then charge $35 for this article on a treatment? It’s unethical, and it goes against their promise to us (me and @freereadorg) and their vow for open access to @wellcometrust and @JeremyFarrar. #COVID19
4) Then there are the potential problems with the study. (Hat tip to @MicrobiomDigest). They somehow left out 4 patients who did worse. #COVID19
5) But you couldn’t have known these study problems without full access to the paper. Which a paywall prevents. And which goes against @ElsevierConnect’s previous promise and sworn pledge to @wellcometrust to unlock. Shameful.
6) Here is @ElsevierConnect’s previous pledge to make all #COVID19 studies open access. Why did they go back on their word? If accident they need to unlock quickly. This is now one of the most talked about papers.
7) GREAT NEWS- after petitioning by teammate @freereadorg, @ElsevierConnect has finally unblocked and dropped the paywall for the above study on the trt trial of #COVID19! Thanks @Cabot_Chris - maybe update paywalls daily?
