Just some thoughts on the UK coronavirus press conference I missed... not seeing much reaction to what I think was an announcement of a delivery service for one and a half million people. That's a pretty huge scheme to put in place in a matter of days.
Lots of people seem to be arguing about people not social distancing in parks, not so many about the almost certainly much larger numbers crammed in supermarkets (and having been in both over the weekend I know which I'd be more worried about).
Testing, this one seems to have gone a bit quiet, but this tweet made me wonder whether there's a lot more the UK government needs to be trying to do at speed?
Few people seem terribly convinced by the clarity of messaging by Boris Johnson or the UK government generally. It does seem strange how little I'm seeing or hearing of coronavirus messaging from the government. Is there a specialist team?
And overall, whether it is the leadership, the unprecedented challenge, media coverage, the structure, individuals, other priorities, or whatever, something still doesn't quite *feel* right about UK government coronavirus handling. Could be any or all of them.
Just to finish, hundreds of thousands of people are working flat out on all of the many policy challenges of Coronavirus. Millions are trying to follow best guidance. We hope all of that will come together with all our elected leaders to handle this as best we can.
