Johnson is announcing the right policy. I just wish he had done it 8 weeks ago, when the writing was already on the wall.

But the UK wasted precious weeks, dithering, then experimenting with its potentially catastrophic herd immunity thesis. There were plenty of warnings, from eminent epidemiologists and others. So could the Johnson toadies bleating "oh yeah the benefit of hindsight" kindly bog off?
