Mark Ali, chief executive and medical director for the Private Harley Street Clinic, is offering a workaround for the well-heeled to the British government’s tight restrictions on testing for the new coronavirus.
Dr. Ali has triggered a mini furor in the country, which prides itself on its taxpayer-backed National Health System, or NHS, which doles out most care free of charge to all residents.
He was quoted in London’s Telegraph newspaper earlier this week saying he had sent kits to many well-known individuals, including “lords and ladies.”
