Now it looks like @libertyU vs everybody.

How does this flip the historical script? A lil thread:

Back in the 1940s, even hard-core Fundamentalist U sometimes put ideology in the back seat.
Exhibit A: in 1946, Bob Jones College grabbed as much army-surplus as it could, in spite of BJC’s generally leery attitude about the feds.
Exhibit B: In one famous case, though, Bob Jones clung to its conservative, segregationist ideology WAY longer than other white southern fundamentalist colleges. How did that work out?
By 1982, @CTmagazine was calling it “Bob Jones vs Everybody.” christianitytoday.com/ct/1982/februa…
Back then, even @LibertyU had come around on segregation. In 1982, Liberty claimed 200 African American students out of 3000. And by the end of the decade, Liberty bragged about its “Black Student Fellowship.”
Today, though, with its embrace of Trumpism-unto-death Liberty is now on the outside looking in. Liberty is alienating its own faculty members and losing whatever advantage it might have had from its online billions.

As @JohnFea1 noted, faculty are rushing for the exits. Will tuition-paying students be next?
