There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus.

* Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

Take steps to protect yourself because Nigeria is low on test kits and only handful of test centres available.
Clean your hands often
*Wash ur hands often with soap for at least 20seconds especially after u have been in a public place, or after blowing ur nose, cough, or sneeze.
*If soap is not available, use a hand sanitizer that with 60% alcohol.
*Avoid touching ur eyes, nose, & mouth.
Avoid close contact
*Avoid close contact with people who are sick
* Put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community. This is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.

Cover coughs & sneezes
*Cover your mouth & nose with a tissue when u cough or sneeze or use the inside of ur elbow.
*Throw used tissues in the bin.
*Wash ur hands with soap for at least 20 seconds. If soap & water are not readily available, clean ur hands with a hand sanitizer.
Wear a face mask if u are sick
*You should wear a face mask when u are around people. If u are not able to wear a face mask (e.g. because it causes trouble breathing) then u should do ur best to cover ur coughs & sneezes.
*If u are caring for someone who is sick wear a mask.
Clean and disinfect
* Clean & disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, & sinks.
* If surfaces are dirty, clean them: Use detergent or soap & water prior to disinfection.
