I wrote a piece for @NRO in which I argue that, as long as the current uncertainty remains, we should assume the worst and prepare accordingly, but not because of complicated mathematical models of dubious epistemic status.
I'm already enjoying the comments from people who probably haven't even read the piece but think I must be "anti-science" since I criticize mathematical models. It's funny how the reverence for models is often inversely proportional to how much you understand them 😀
I just hope this won't attract the "I ❤️ science" crowd, because after dealing with people who explain to me that I shouldn't criticize the French government so much because "they're doing their best" and "it's unpatriotic" all day long, I don't think I have any patience left.
