Please visit @PRSLegislative's newly created tinyurl.com/sm726o5 that collates & curates, orders/guidelines/press releases issued by both centre & states as a response to #COVID19.

Currently we have a total of 800 such orders affecting citizens, businesses & govt. services.
Use the drop-down menu to sort for sectors you are interested in and category of persons the orders impact.

Furthermore, go deeper and choose a state and see what they have been doing – there are 28 sectors you can choose from.
Lot of insight here on how governments have responded – several commonalities but lots of differences.

We hope this repository will facilitate deeper insights on how these orders impact not only the fight against #COVID but also varied sectors that make the Indian economy.

Growth rate is key during a disease outbreak. The rate of growth in the the total confirmed #cases in #Canada seems to be showing signs of slowing and pulling away from the continued steep trend line seen, for example, in the United States (Green). #COVID19 #coronavirus 1/25
This is a +ve sign, but still very early to tell, esp. with an est. 1M+ #Canadians having just returned from travel, and #COVID-19 #testing only targeting >severe cases (due to rationing & backlog in lab testing), we don’t have a good grasp on the level of community spread. 2/25
The number of total cases is what we want to know, but the true number of these is not known. Not by us epidemiologists, nor by any other research, governmental or reporting institution. 3/25

A brief thread about how the #COVIDー19 crisis in my small hometown of Albany, GA (Dougherty County) exposes some of the challenges unique to healthcare in rural places, but also serves as a harbinger of things to come in larger places. 1/14
Albany is a hot spot. Two and a half weeks ago there were zero cases. Now Albany has the largest number of cases per capita in the state of Georgia. Eleven people are dead. The ICU is FULL (more on that later). Let that sink in. 2.5 weeks from zero to devastation. 2/14
Here is a helpful interactive map of COVID-19 cases in Georgia. You see the dark mass of counties comprising the Atlanta metro area. Then you see one lone dark county in south GA. That's Albany. Someone came into town for a funeral. Now here we are.

2/7 The tool determines the max daily number of incident #COVIDー19 cases where the rate of #COVIDー19 patients being admitted to acute care, critical care or requiring mechanical ventilation ("patients in") equals the max daily turnover rate of those resources ("patients out").
3/7 Data from the @CDCgov @CDCMMWR on age-based case distribution and severity (cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/6…) are used to estimate the population-weighted proportion of #COVIDー19 patients requiring acute and critical care resources ("patients in").

Analysis results of 25,000+ lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Wuhan till Feb 18: epidemiological characteristics and non-pharmaceutical Intervention effects. The key results are summarized below and hope they are useful for the strategies in US and others medrxiv.org/content/10.110…
1. In the absence of intervention (before 1/23), the effective reproductive number R=3.8>>1, and dropped to R=0.3 after the massive intervention on Feb 1(centralized quarantine and treatment of all confirmed and suspected cases). This intervention worked.
2. Various sensitivity analyses were done and the conclusion holds.

Finally authorities are putting Mazandaran province on quarantine: only fuel and food trucks are allowed. This late, its effectiveness will be limited.

The same authorities have had argued for quarantine to be "non-scientific" and "from middle ages".
