Opening of the new section Caboolture to Beerburrum 14th April 2009 northern line - high speed double track replaces the speed limited single line.
One of the first trains heading north over the new section was the Q150 Steam Train.
Bus we travelled on from Elimbah to Beerburrum. Trains not running at this time. Rail services commenced around 9.30am.
The new Beerburrum station. It was here we waited for the commencement of the rail services.
Old Beerburrum station. Adjacent to the new station.
Beerburrum looking in the other direction. Single platform, passing loop.
Temporary access to the new station.
North of Beerburrum, where the double line joins the single line. Promised in 2009 was the duplication from Beerburrum to Landsborough. The old line can be seen. Still waiting for the duplication ...
First Citytrain Down (north) at Beerburrum.
Departure from Beerburrum.
One of the first UP (south) trains was the tilt!
Then the SUNLANDER !
And then down (north) Q150 special - hauled by Locomotive BB18-1/4 4-6-2 No. 1079.
The construction crew all came out to give the Q150 special a cheery wave as it expressed Beerburrum.
We had a member placed to capture this photograph. Q150 leaves the new double line and onto the single line north of Beerburrum. Note the old line replaced by the double track.
ICE
This was running as an empty. There had been a closure prior to the opening and it was being positioned.

Hope you enjoyed this interesting procession of trains as the double line from Caboolture to Beerburrum was opened for regular running.
