1/ Holy shit. Yesterday @jameswest2010 reported on how gay COVID survivors like him were being banned from donating plasma to clinical trials to help the dying.

TODAY THE FDA RELAXED THE BAN. Not enough, but it's a start.

3/ Gay men still need to abstain from sex—even if monogamous—for three months to be able to donate blood, which is dumb. Re COVID plasma trials they should just test the damn plasma for HIV.

So still dumb and prejudicial. But less so.

Up to 3,000 advertisers block ‘coronavirus’ for their ads which means they aren’t funding lifesaving coverage being provided free by news orgs. It’s time to name and shame the companies that aren’t doing their part by lifting these bullshit ‘brand safety’ bans. Show us the list.
Once we have a crowdsourced list of official twitter handles for the 3,000+ we can crowdsource the effort to pump out shame tweets that instruct advertisers to unblock COVID coverage from their brand safety block list and say we want to see their ads supporting essential works.
By voicing discontent brands have a reverse integrity issue to contend with trumping irrational unfounded fear of ads running alongside articles. Make them quell social media damage. Us folks have plenty of time on our hands. Social media managers and ad buyers work remotely.

1. RELIEF FUND: Until we have univ. health care we need an emergency health relief fund. The # of critical cases, meaning cases requiring significant medical intervention, are more than ten fold the number of deaths. For many this will result bankruptcy levels of medical debt.
2. ER COVERAGE: Health Insurance companies should not be allowed to deny coverage for treatments that are not 'pre-approved' or "FDA approved' as all of the treatment options for severe cases of COVID are 'off-label'
