Today we learned about the Trump Admin’s latest proposal to cut #SNAP that would leave millions of people, including struggling families, seniors, & people with disabilities, with less help putting food on the table. Here’s a thread on what all of this means 👇 👇
It mirrors an Admin legislative proposal that would have cut #SNAP benefits on net by $4.5 billion over 5 years. Benefits would increase for a small number of households while nearly 1/5 would face an average benefit cuts of $30 per month.
The proposed rule marks the Admin’s 3rd effort to cut #SNAP through regulations **this year alone**, following 2 proposals that they estimate together would take SNAP away from nearly 4 million people.

Patrick and Karen called me two weeks ago, worried about what the government shutdown would mean for their affordable home. They live in senior housing in Montgomery, Alabama, surviving on an income of $1,500 per month. 2/

I've been going to cons as a vendor or attendee for 20+ years. Cons have changed a lot, but the biggest change is NOT what most people always point out... that media has taken over the Con. That's true, but the big change is in the people who go, and why they are there. 2/18
Con attendees are not the day-in, day-out comic buyer. Con attendees are by and large more casual fans of the actual books, even though the cosplay may trick you into thinking they are "super fans". They are "super-fans", but of the idea of comics far more than the titles. 3/18
