I told @BorisJohnson about this at PMQ’s 11 days ago.

I told him about it again in a letter THIS WEEK.

When will government get it - our very system of social care is delivering #Covid19 into care homes and spreading it between care homes.

I’m angry. We knew and did nothing
Only three things will keep care home residents safe:

1. Test care home workers

2. Stop agency workers going from home to home.

3. Supply homes with all the PPE they need. @BorisJohnson promised this to me in the Commons, it hasn’t happened
Right now the system is preparing for widespread loss of life.

What’s more shocking is that current government policy *IS DRIVING US TOWARDS IT*

My letter to @BorisJohnson.

There‘s only one way to keep care home residents safe: test workers and ensure #COVID19 never enters a home in the first place.

Right now some homes are petri-dishes for contagion within and between homes.

Staff are angels and heroes, but need help
Care homes are being rationed to five tests per home. This is woeful and dangerous, but a symptom of the UK having too few tests available and a failure to upscale testing facilities fast enough.
The PM promised protective equipment by the end of last week to every care home. This hasn’t happened.

250 light face masks have been delivered to some. But due to the close contact of social care work, workers caring with infected residents need full body protection.

I have been supportive of most government action during this crisis, but today’s announcements and statements have been ambiguous about testing strategy, pubs and entertainment.
The Number 10 communications operation which proved so astonishingly effective during the referendum and 2019 general election seems increasingly inept at governing In a crisis. People do not understand the reasoning behind decisions not the overall strategy as it evolves

I’m really concerned by talk of shutting down parliament over Covid-19.

Throughout history parliament has been *recalled* at times of crisis, not the opposite.

But there are sensible mitigation actions we could take, such as 👇
- Stop visitors, MP’s limited to one staff member onsite, limit contact between Lords and Commons and possibly even suspend the Lords due to the higher number of people at risk.

- Stop MPs official travel
- MPs in high-risk groups can work from home and be allowed to submit questions to be answered by ministers in the Commons in their absence.

- select committee witnesses to give evidence by video link

- Only MPs intending to speak go into chamber

Good morning.. COVID news from up close.

Neighbour's son tested positive day before yesterday. 😑

Son doesn't live in our bldg but lives very close by and has been frequent visitor to our building.

Has travel history n was showing symptoms since a week.

Apparently he'd been told to quarantine but didn't n was roaming around n visited his parents n possibly also stayed over around 4-5 days ago. 🙄

So he's been visiting AND using the elevator in our building since a week.. n they didn't bother to inform anyone.

Gets worse...

So day before he tested positive n his father took him to be admitted to hospital.

Since family (our neighbours) had come in contact with someone who tested positive, all were asked to self-quarantine n not step out.

BUT - neither did they inform society nor stay indoors.

You played this @Franklin_Graham compassionate infomercial 7 times in 3 hours today.
1- they said covid is a hoax.
2- I called, 38 seconds into the call they asked me for money.
3- I asked if they have free meals resources, the guy put me on hold and hang up.
I am going to call them again and ask them to pray with me for toilet paper, faster amazon deliveries and a special prayer for someone with a hoarding issue ( @VodkaMuse ) I may record and tweet if I can tweak the voice thing.
$300,000 package minimum commitment to run that many spots.
@Franklin_Graham, I am assuming it is a $2 million blitz campaign with all the networks, online and radio.
Your “ prayer troops” asked me for money under 60 seconds flat.

He told it to @Schofe & @hollywills on #ThisMorning on Thursday, 5 March.

A clip of him saying this was tweeted by @mvdct on the same day.

What happened next was remarkable...
@peterjukes @BorisJohnson @Schofe @hollywills @mvdct On Sunday evening, after a tip off from @CereinynOrd (follow her for #coronavirus), I tracked down the clip of the interview.

The clip beings with Boris saying: "One of the theories is, that perhaps you could take it on the chin, take it all in one go..."
@peterjukes @BorisJohnson @Schofe @hollywills @mvdct @CereinynOrd 3./ He goes on: "...& allow the disease, as it were, to move through the population, without taking as many draconian measures. I think we need to strike a balance."

To me there were two possible explanations for what Boris had said.

The second far more chilling than the first.

#COVID-19: It’s possible to get infected a 2nd time. People recovered by their own immune system, but the meds they use are damaging their heart, and when they get it the 2nd time, the antibody makes it worse, and they die of sudden heart failure.

I don't find this unexpected. We had similar results in the study of SARS. Challenge with the virus after vaccination actually made the resulting disease worse. One theory is this may be due to an overactive immune response due to a cytokine storm.
What I find really troubling is doctors in China had to report this anonymously to avoid communist censorship. We are not getting the whole story here. Keep in mind we don't yet know how many cases this involves and we'll have to wait for more case studies in other countries.
