It's weird how there's all these stories about megachurches seeking to flout coronavirus safety rules to hold Easter services, and virtually none of them mention how much revenue Easter services bring in for megachurch pastors
There's this sort of tacit assumption that these pastors are making a political or ideological commitment, without noting that they'll see a huge financial upside to staying open on the best-attended church weekend of the year, just the same as restaurants and bars would
Anyway I guess it's cute how a lot of people still assume churches never do things for commercial reasons

I'll be voting in the FL primary for Sanders, again, and in the general for whoever wins the primary, again. Structural forces in America need to be changed. The chance to do that in '20 with ballots is scant, but the urgent need to remove a GOP crime party from power remains
As for the man's progressive vision, like he says -- "not me, us." There's young blood with that vision breaking into Congress, into unions, into advocacy and public service. In the Oval or out of it, Bernie will help them until he can't. Solidarity is a long game
Anyway the chief lesson of every major election in my life has been "Voting is a necessary but insufficient condition for rolling back the world's evils"

Me: Whaaaat? No way. Who'd you talk to at my insurance?

Them: ...

Me: What's the cash self-pay rate, if I don't use insurance?

Them: Uh, $300

Me: ...
Me: So the CT scan is $300 if I self-pay, but $500 if I use my $500-a-month insurance?

Them: ...yep

Me: Okay I guess I'll pay cash then

Them: Fine. But the radiology charge will be separate, and I don't know what their self-pay fee is

Me: Can you find out for me?

Them: Okay here's the number for radiology to find out their self-pay fee

Me: Wait, while you had me on hold I checked my plan info...

Me: It says my CT scan copay should be $300, not $500

International #coronavirus update.

The US is definitely leading the world in gross numbers (other than China, which I'll bring up next). Death rates per capita are lower than most other countries though. We haven't even come close to seeing our peak yet.
The Chinese numbers are obviously fake.

At this point, I would probably multiply their total published numbers by at least a factor of TEN.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had a 1 million ill, and 30-50,000 dead. That would be approximately a 4% death rate, give or take.
Italy and Spain are a little apart chronologically, but otherwise following the same pattern.

The rest of Europe is following, but may be slightly more prepared, decreasing their mortality rates.

Currently, it appears to be 4%, but it's WAY too early. Some (mild illness) do not seek medical attention, deaths lag infections, poor reporting...

In a fast-moving situation, such as a viral outbreak, accurate reporting can be tricky, such as with #Ebola, where people can get sick/die in remote places with little infrastructure.

And some governments don't accurately report information for a variety of (political) reasons.
People infected with the #coronavirus (called #2019nCoV) can have a range of symptoms: NONE to mild to severe pneumonia.

If 50% of infections are mild (no need for treatment), the ACTUAL number of total infections may be MUCH higher, and the case-fatality rate would be LOWER.
