#Thread on capture of Delhi by Hindu Barwaris (1320-21 CE) #History #islamic #Hindus #delhi #Sultanate #delhisultanate #lowcaste
This and some of the upcoming threads will be dedicated to how our so called ‘low caste’ Hindu brothers and sisters directly confronted atrocious Islamic rule during Middle Ages in India.

The first in this series is Capture of Delhi by Hindu Barwaris
Barwaris, as confirmed by contemporary Muslim chroniclers such as Barani, Amir Khusrau and Ibn Battuta, belonged to a tribe of (so called as per present definition) lower social status, primarily from Gujarat...
.. However, they were renown for immense bravery and readiness to lay down their lives for their homeland in battlefields.
Barwaris had heard and witnessed unimaginable onslaught and massacres by Muslim forces during Islamic invasion of Gujarat in 1299 CE, especially in Anhilwara, Asavalli,Cambay, Vanmanthali, Surat etc.,...
.. resulting in thousands of men, women and children being sold and resold in slavery. They had seen innumerable temples, monasteries and palaces etc being destroyed all over Gujarat. They were aptly calling Allauddin Khalji as Khuni.
The leader of the massive uprising in Delhi by Barwaris was a young slave, Hasan, originally a Hindu captured as a child during invasion of Malwa by Ain-un-Mulk Multani in 1305 CE. Upon capture, he was brought to Delhi..
.. where he was enrolled among the personal slave boys of Sultan Allauddin Khalji, after robbing off his manhood transforming him to an eunuch.
Allauddin Khalji‘s son, Qutbuddin Mubarak Khalji was deeply enamoured by the youthfulness of Hasan and promoted him to a Wazir, conferring upon him the title of Khusrau Khan...
.. and allotting him with several jagirs and extraordinary distinctions, the way Allauddin Khalji had bestowed on his favourite wazir, Malik Kafur.
Over period of time, repeated humiliation by fellow foreign Muslim nobles in the court and infliction of unnatural carnal/sexual exploitation by his Khalji masters made Hasan (also Khusrau Khan) revengeful...
.. Outwardly, he surrendered his body to the Sultan But had become blood thirsty from inside towards his master. Hasan was one of the many such Hindu eunuchs who could not forget the inhuman circumstances of their conversions and always looked for an opportunity to strike back.
Kushrau Khan called upon his clansmen in Delhi, who in turn summoned thousands of them from Gujarat. Trudging hundreds of miles by foot and carts, Barwaris headed towards Delhi, with revenge rekindled in their hearts against the Islamic onslaught years ago in their homeland.
.. As per Farishtah, around 40,000 Barwaris reached Delhi 👆, who under leadership of Kushrau Khan, killed Sultan Qutbuddin and with their help, Kushrau Khan ascended the throne as Sultan Nasiruddin Khusrau Shah.
During the insurrection, they finished all possible scions of Khaljis who could lay claim on the throne. Kushrau even captured the chief wife of Qutbuddin and other Barwaris took possession of several Muslim girls of royalty. Copies of Quran were torn and burnt...
.. Some of them were used as seats for Hindu idols in the mosques which were earlier converted from Hindu temples. Idol worship started in royal palaces. The new Sultan forbade slaughter of cows, according to Ibn Battuta...
.. Some mosques were also destroyed as per later Muslim chronicler, Nizamuddin Ahmad. Many Muslims were subjected to religious persecution and humiliation during the time Khusrau Shah was on throne.
.. Though Hindus usually don’t resort to such destructive indulgence post war, going by their inherent code of conduct, this time it was their utter hatred and immense zeal to avenge Islamic atrocities which made them pay back to Muslim in their own coin as it were.
👇
.. However, due to lack of long term plan for Hindu Raj in Delhi, inspite of acceptance of sovereignty of Khusrau by several Muslim governors in and around Delhi, he was killed by Ghiyasudin Tughlaq who invaded Delhi after some 4-5 months post rebellion by Barwaris...
.. Many of the Barwaris were captured and put to death while some fled back to Gujarat. Nevertheless, it was a significant episode showcasing direct confrontation of Hindu ‘low castes’ against the Islamic rule in Medieval India.

Many such heroic chapters are missing from the present day History Text Books taught in ‘secular’ schools and from the recommended course material for UPSC aspirants.🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
.. Such facts directly from primary sources are sufficient to debunk the myth fed to us about rampant caste exploitation in Hindu society that led to our subjugation to Islamic rule in medieval times.
Thanks to Leftist Distortians who have left no stone unturned in transforming our history to a romantic fiction. 🙏
