With 706 new infections, Berlin has more than ever in one day. Experience has shown that the values ​​from Tuesday often include late reports from the health authorities from the weekend.
The number of new infections on Monday was 252. The total number of infections recorded so far has now risen to 19,033. The 7-day incidence, i.e. the weekly infection rate, is now 71.5 per 100,000 inhabitants - and thus well above the threshold value of 50.
The rate is highest in the Neukölln district, followed by Mitte and Tempelhof-Schöneberg. 49 infected people are currently being treated in an intensive care unit in Berlin - an increase of 5 compared to the previous day.
Of the total available intensive care beds, 3.8 percent are occupied by Covid 19 patients.
