This weekend, the Kenyan government announced plans to perform mass tests in the capital, Nairobi.
The test drive comes as Kenya, after the government announced a further relaxation of protocols to fight the pandemic, has seen a recent increase in new cases.

The government will aim its research efforts in the capital through the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS),
which has reported a sharp increase in the number of coronavirus positive cases. Kenya's health ministry confirmed 318 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, out of which 112 cases were registered in Nairobi.
Kenya has more than 40,000 COVID-19 infections among the nine African countries reported this much infections.

The Federal Environment Agency has presented recommendations for the ventilation of schools in the corona pandemic. "To protect yourself from infectious particles, the air should be changed three times per hour.
This means that the room air is completely exchanged for fresh air from outside three times an hour," writes the office. In the cold season of the year, the room should be ventilated every 20 minutes with the windows wide open for 3 to 5 minutes during lessons -
so-called burst ventilation. In addition, there should be ventilation during the entire breaks. The office advises against only opening the door for ventilation, because small aerosols could then spread from one room through the hallway to other classrooms.

At least 37 people tested positive for the coronavirus following a major teenage birthday party in New York State. "Dozens of people from the Sweet 16 party fell ill," said Governor Andrew Cuomo.
"That shows how an event can generate so many cases". More than 80 people took part in the celebration, which was organized by a party organizer on the Long Island peninsula off New York at the end of September.
The number of participants at such events in the region is currently limited to 50 due to corona requirements. More than 270 people had to be quarantined in connection with the party, including numerous young people from nearby schools.
