Anyone who calls a socialist an enemy of ordinary people is an enemy of ordinary people – because socialism is precisely about protecting ordinary people.
Anyone who calls a socialist an enemy of the economy is an enemy of the economy – because any fool knows the economy's real enemies are those who strip away its assets and hoard away its wealth.
Socialists believe WE ALL deserve happy and fulfilling lives, no matter where we come from, where our parents come from, our ethnicity or the colour of our skin.
So who could love their countryfolk more than that?
Anyone who attacks people who care about other people, calling them ‘strident’, ‘woke’, ‘extreme’ or ‘naive’, clearly doesn’t give a f*** about other people – so why give a f*** what they say?
Anyone who slurs or smears the pragmatic and sensible policies of democratic socialists, calling them ‘loony’, ‘extremist’, ‘irresponsible’ or ‘dangerous’ is an extremist – because democratic socialism is at the very heart of common sense.
Anyone who calls an antiracist an antisemite is a racist – because an antiracist can’t be an antisemite, it’s a contradiction in terms – and what motive can there be for undermining the clarity of antiracism but racism itself?
Anyone who calls an antiracist an antisemite is a racist, because to attack antiracists encourages racists; and who would encourage racism and racists except a racist?
Anyone who calls an antiracist an antisemite is a racist, because to suggest there’s a hierarchy of racism, where antisemitism is DIFFERENT, implies a racist exceptionalism.
Antiracists believe ALL racism, ALL xenophobia and ALL religious intolerance is bad. There are no exceptions.
To condemn people because of the groups they’re born into, and not to assess them on the basis of their own actions and choices, is immoral.

Anyone who rubbishes climate activists by one smear or another is a traitor to humanity – to our children and to their children – because if the climate is f***ed then we’re all f***ed, and our children and their children are harmed most of all.
Anyone who rubbishes feminists and trivialises sexism or demands “What about men? What about their point of view?” is either malevolent or a fool or both. We know all about men’s points of view – it’s the predominant narrative of our world.
Anyone who attacks those who expose the abuses of power is missing the point. Smearing or whataboutism isn’t the point. An activist’s personal attributes or weaknesses aren’t the point.
The point is that abuses of power must always be exposed.
Those who say you can't campaign on behalf of a community because you're not part of that community need to grow a brain.
Empathy and compassion and putting yourself in someone else's shoes is at the heart of human nature.
Without it we are monsters...
A moral society puts people first.
Not wealth.
Not power.
Not nation states.
Not archaic forms of government or law.
Not royal families or venerable castes.
People.
Ordinary people.
Us.
That’s what morality is.
That’s why we’re socialists, environmentalists, humanists, feminists and anti-racists. That’s why we fight for the vulnerable, the unfairly treated, the prejudiced against and the exploited.
Because we care.
We’ve talked about the enemies of our civilisation and biological world:
– the corporations
– the growth economy
– the oligarch- or state-controlled media
– the greedy and power-hungry 0.1%
“Anyone would think we had some sort of death wish.”
Me and you?
“No. Humanity. The human race.”
Perhaps we do.
“We’re waging chemical warfare against our own species.”
It’s a kind of madness, isn’t it?
1/36
Our self-harming chemical war:
– Particulates spewed out from our use of wood, diesel, coal and other fuels, particulates which we then breath
– The pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers we pour over pastures and farmlands, which then permeate our food chain
2/36
– The microplastics we discharge into water sources, ending up in the water we drink
– The mass consumption of sugar, trans fats, salt
– The use of barbiturates, opioids, nicotine, caffeine, alcohol & other pain-killers, tranquilisers & stimulants
A moral society puts people first.
Not wealth.
Not power.
Not nation states.
Not archaic forms of government or law.
Not royal families or venerable castes.
People.
Ordinary people.
Us.
Imagine a world where a hungry child on the other side of the world matters just as much as the child next door. A world where that child’s sister matters too, who works in the fields or on the factory floor when she should still be at school.
