My feeling is that many people in times of crisis (#corona, #EnergyCrisis, #inflation) do not perceive or hardly perceive (correctly) some natural phenomena at night, such as the starry #sky.

In addition, there are also certain #acoustic #phenomena that probably few people think about. For example, I wondered why I sometimes wake up at night. An #audio spectrum analysis may reveal the cause. Take a look at the video in the last tweet in this thread.

More specifically, It is a pulsating low-frequency 50 Hz sound coming from outside near the #infrasound limit that sometimes acoustically contaminates large areas in #Berlin.

Even in a closed room with a good #soundproof window this low frequency sound is perceptible (high sound pressure!). At night, when the general #citynoise is largely absent (especially from #suburban and #subway trains), this 50 Hz tone is perceptible and measurable.

Studies (in #Germany) have shown that low-frequency sound or #infrasound (especially from #windturbines and heat pumps) can be harmful to #health (#heart).

Make an #audio #spectrum analysis under different conditions during the day or at night with the app mentioned in the video, e.g. during the day at a busy main road or at night in your #bedroom especially if you live near a #windturbine, a #trainstation or an #airport.

As a control and for comparison, it is best to let a #clock with mechanical movement tick during recordings at night as shown in the video in the next tweet.
