What's amazing to me is that FSD wasn't even close to being able to do this just a few months ago. This is an illustration of the leaps and bounds improvement the FSD rewrite is over what's in my car right now. Imagine where this will be in the next few months. #exponential
Every car drives itself any time the driver isn't paying attention. It's totally bonkers to me that we drive around trusting ourselves and other drivers to stay focused on the road.
In 2020, there was a driving related fatality every ~26 seconds. We *need* autonomous driving.

I'm still convinced that my kids (8 and younger) will never need to learn to drive a car. FSD will be *really* good by the end of this year and level-5 autonomy will get regulatory approval in the US in the next 2 years. Maybe sooner.

2/ The novel #Coronavirus has been isolated countless times from patients, incl. "BavPat1/2020", from one of the first patients in Bavaria, by the team around @c_drosten. Several isolates can be ordered from bio material repositories, e.g. european-virus-archive.com/evag-portal/vi…
3/ The genomes of these isolated and laboratory grown viruses were sequenced, as were thousands of samples from patients around the globe: nextstrain.org/ncov/global. By #sequencing it is possible to clearly identify which exact virus is present. By the way...

2/4 With an average of > 630 #COVID19 cases now being reported daily across 🇨🇦, this metric has ↑ by > 20% compared to last week and > 65% compared to 4 weeks ago, when an average of just >380 cases were reported daily.
3/4 Increased disease activity, poses a risk for accelerated or #exponential epidemic growth. This fast-paced growth, as we experienced during Apr/May, is difficult to control with #TestandTrace and can throw us off the #SlowBurn path.
1/4 Informed by mathematical modelling, the approach to #COVID19 pandemic control involved an initial phase of strong #publichealth measures (e.g. closures) to stop #exponential growth that threatened to overwhelm the health system.
2/4 Following this is a longer phase of less restrictive #publichealth measures (#PhysicalDistancing, #Handwashing, #MaskOn, #TestandTrace) to keep #COVID19 under manageable control, as we cautiously reopen social & economic spaces.
3/4 This overall approach has been popularly described as the “Hammer and the Dance”.
