To address issue of Electronic Waste , Env Minister @iujibril meets Representatives of @WEF on the e-wast recycling Project in Nigeria
This meeting is a follow up of engagement and dialogue at the ongoing #NES23 Summit/Circular Economy Panels with DG @NESREANigeria
The @WEF delegation also extended an invitation to Minister @iujibril to join the Platform for Accelerating the Circular Economy (PACE)
It is instructive to note that @NESREANigeria has advanced plans to start Implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Programme
Responding on WEF e-waste recycling Project, Minister pledges support and called for more support for EPR programme of @NESREANigeria
In attendance at the meeting is the DG of @NESREANigeria, Dr. Lawrence Anukam (@dgNESREA)

#Nigeria''s @MBuhari has begun moves to officially extend the tenure of Ibrahim Idris as Inspector-General of @PoliceNG. Under Service Rules, Idris shd have retired on the 35th anniv of his enlistment, 3 Jan but has continued to run the police regardless.

s. 215(1)(a) of #Nigeria's constitution says: an Inspector-General of @PoliceNG shall be appointed by the President on advice of the Police Council from among serving members of the NPF.

IGP Idris can't be lawfully extended cos he's no longer serving & Police Council hasn't met.
s. 216(2) of the Constitution is v clear: "Before making any appointment to the office of the Inspector-General of @PoliceNG or removing him from office the President shall consult the Nigeria Police Council." A meeting of the Police Council is mandatory pre-condition.

THREAD COMMENCES
The initial goal was to overhaul how information was conveyed to viewers. The old design didn't have a donation total, or any information about donation incentives or prizes. You had to rely on hosts talking about them or looking at the website. No good!
That brings us to our first layout: AGDQ 2015!

A big improvement, but you can tell that I'm pretty new at this. As mentioned a few days ago, I put that bar at the top just to shove a logo and a hashtag into view. That was silly.

2009: Maj Gen Peter #Ademokhai (rtd), ex-GOC 1 Division, ex-member, Armed Forces Ruling Council (AFRC) was abducted at Iguoriakhi, Ovia North East LGA, Edo state, 23 April 2009; paid ransom, released after 2 days. Earlier, shot by robbers 9 April 1994, hospitalized for 8 months.
2007: Maj Gen Joseph Ayango #Aondo (rtd) was #killed in the federal capital, #Abuja, 14 June 2007. He had been chairman of the political campaign group, #Yar'Adua Associates, was seized at the entrance to his house, driven 5km on the Kubwa expressway, then shot dead in his car.

#Nigeria the Budget Office put out 2017 fiscal accounts which showed that FY deficit came in at NGN3.8tr (3.3% of nom GDP) and above the 3% fiscal responsibility act. As usual revenues missed thanks to usual over-optimistic non-oil rev assumptions and higher JV payments
But interestingly, capex spending came in a record NGN1.44tr (1.3% of GDP and around 66% of target) with overall budget execution at 87% suggesting some credibility in implementation despite the costs driven by higher drawdowns by Works, Power and Housing
Debt service/revenues printed at 69% (adjusted for sinking fund payments to retire debt 60%) but up from the 47% in 2016. Overall debt tracked higher due to increasingly more expensive borrowings over the last three years - a derivative of CBN tightening.
