Shep Smith just took apart the Uranium One conspiracy theory in what amounts to a methodical annihilation of his own network's coverage of the story.

As far as I can tell, today was the first time Smith had mentioned Uranium One since the story in The Hill put it back in play. And it was a total demolition.
Shep: A Breitbart editor started this, then Trump cited the accusation. "That statement is inaccurate in a number of ways. First, the Clinton state department had no power to veto or approve that transaction. It could do neither."
Here's Shep explaining that the nine members of CFIUS unanimously approved the deal and there's no evidence Hillary Clinton herself intervened.

This segment was a massive "fuck you" to Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro, Fox & Friends, and Smith's other colleagues who have been pushing conspiracy theories.
