I love pro wrestling from the heart. And there are many many good people in our community. But we have to make it better. You can't fix a problem if you don't recognize that it exists. I don't want to be an old man crying in the wilderness. I want to bring positive change.
The first thing we have to do is listen and believe the stories that victims are telling. No matter how difficult or painful. We have to hear it. We must acknowledge that abuse is in our community. And we have to have genuine empathy. What we do now will make a difference.
I have encouraged everyone not to remain silent. I believe that the truth is most important in all of this. It takes tremendous courage to speak out. Though I am deeply flawed, I still feel my voice is important. I must follow my own advice and share some things.
I have traveled to hundreds of wrestling shows in the past 3 years. It has been my joy and salvation in so many ways. But I have seen too many incidents of abusive and insulting behavior by folks in our community. It is not OK. It never was and never will be.
I have, on several occasions, called fans and wrestlers out when I felt the behavior was improper. I do NOT apologize for that and I will continue to do so. I have knocked a camera from a man's grip and asked people to leave shows. And I had a damn good reason for doing so.
I have been afraid and embarrassed to talk about the fact that I have been physically assaulted on two occasions at shows. I have been shoved and punched by fans. Once knocking my glasses off. I have stayed quiet so as not to upset my wife and kids. I want to keep hoing to shows!
And I am ashamed and sad to say that I have been victimized by unwanted sexual advances on a few occasions as well. I don't understand how anyone would ever think it is OK approach me in this manner. I cannot even imagine what some females have do deal with.
Sorry for my misspellings. My eyes are not the best. In conclusion I just want to say this: If I see you or hear you abuse ANYONE (including myself) at a wrestling show I will ask you to leave, get your name, and tell EVERYONE. THIS HAS TO STOP!!!

This is the story of Gorgeous George...
George Raymond Wagner was born in Nebraska in 1915. Age 17 he as paid 35 cents to wrestle at a carnival. When his amateur wrestling coach found out he kicked him out, furious that he was now a "professional wrestler."
Wagner was 'only' 5 ft 9 in tall and weighed 215 pounds, but he was athletic and technically solid. By 1938 he had won his first title.

I have complex feels around the commons clause and whats happening now with Redis Labs. To get things out up front - I’m not a user of Redis Labs. I support peoples choices to license their work how they want, and to build their companies how they want.
As a part of a business model, open source gives a couple of things. 1 - the opportunity for a large community to arise, with their identity and effort mixed with that of the originators/companies. 2 - if that works, you have a shot to commercialize those users and contributors
In business terms, you’re creating a bigger top of funnel, with the hopes that you can drive reasonable conversion rates into $$ at the bottom. The size of your tent is what makes that $ possible. It because people use your software, but really works because they *identify* w/ it
