The House passed their #TaxScam bill. Now it's all about the Senate. Here's the thing: By my count, we have 10 GOP Senators that could cause real problems for McConnell. We have to inundate them with calls/emails. Here they are:
Ron Johnson R-WI
He's said he'll vote no because he doesn't like the way the bill treats small businesses. Wisconsin - stay on him. Don't let him change his mind.
Senator Collins R-ME
She's one of the three that voted down Trumpcare & isn't happy with the ACA mandate repeal. Also, she's the author of the tax credit for teachers which got slashed in the House bill. Maine - stay on her!!
Senator Murkowski R-AK
She said she wants a healthcare stabilization bill passed BEFORE the tax bill, which takes out the ACA mandate. Alaska - call her; make her be true to her word!!
Senator McCain R-AZ
As usual, he is a wild card. He did just give notice that he wants a LOT of time on the Senate floor to offer amendments. Arizona -- push him to demand regular order!
Senator Corker R-TN
He's one of the GOP deficit hawks. The tax bill will raise the deficit by $1.5 Trillion. He's also said he is very uneasy with the 35 temporary tax provisions that are "holding" the deficit at $1.5T. Tennessee - keep up the calls!!
Senator Flake R-AZ
Like Corker, he's a deficit hawk. However, he's been really flaky. If he has other Senators who will vote no, he'll have the "courage" to do the same. Arizona - Keep up those calls! Tell him how bad this plan is for you!
Senator Young R-IN
He doesn't want the tax plan to "blow a hole in the budget" which it most certainly does. He does think growth can help, but he appears to think current estimates are way too rosy. Indianan - keep up the calls! We want him feeling uneasy!
Senator Lankford R-OK
Another deficit hawk. He's been making noises on Capitol Hill, but more quietly, that he's unhappy. Oklahoma - your state's getting bluer...keep up those calls! Make him listen!
Senator Moran R-KS
Not only is he a deficit hawk, he just watched his state implode its economy due to massive tax cuts. Growth did NOT happen and the rich just found new shelters for their $$. Kansas - keep up the calls; learn the lesson of Brownback's cuts!
Senator Rand Paul R-KY
Rand Paul is always a wild card. He has been more than willing to vote against the tide. He loves tax cuts BUT he has been vocal that all taxpayers - incl. poor and middle class - should get them. Kentucky - keep up the calls!
End/ If one of these Senators is yours, you will have an outsized voice in this fight. Be sure to use it. For everyone else, keep up the tweets about how bad this bill is -- be specific! Let's #KillTheBill
Use this tool to get your Senator's number. Leave a message this weekend & call again on a weekday. theloyalopposition.net/rep-finder/
