1)CA prisons are overcrowded. The SCOTUS ruled that is unconstitutional bc it constitutes cruel & unusual punishment so CA along w other states releases prisoners early. If they deported the 20-40% of prisoners who are here illegally prisons wouldn't be overcrowded.
2)Private prisons are expensive. WJC was all for them. In fact there are shareholders (friends of his) & their prospectus promised 96% occupancy.

3)One of the biggest shareholders in private prisons is Thurgood Marshall jr, the son of the late African American Supreme Court Justice who fought for civil rights. Isn't it ironic?

4)Private prisons don't save taxpayers money. They make money for shareholders who have a vested interest in keeping them full. It doesn't help overcrowding when so many politicians are crooks & take up cells.
