/ Welcome to Wednesday in the independent republic of Brexitlandia
/ Well yesterday's Government tactics worked a treat. After Monday's news that the transition would mean continue paying the EU, no control over EU laws, EU approval of trade deals and a commitment to an open border with Ireland, everyone forgot about that bad news 🙄
/ Because we all focussed on other bad news - namely that Brexit will be bad for the UK economically and the only question is how much. 💸💸💸
/ Even the Maybot has publicly recognised the risk of getting the Brexit negotiations wrong
/ So it makes a mockery of this explanation for the economic impact assessment prepared by civil servants who have a duty to be honest and impartial
/ One may ask why the Sith Lord @SteveBakerHW tried to argue the assessment showed economic growth but then said it was rubbish and could not be trusted 🧐
/ One may ask why this is a "very preliminary analysis" 18 months after the referendum and 10 months after the article 50 notice was given triggering a 2 year clock which handed over nearly all leverage to the EU 🤬
/ One may ask why a "selective interpretation" has resulted in this specific assessment being presented to Cabinet Ministers? After all why waste their time with something that is described by DEXEU ministers as not an assessment and even if it is it is not a good one 🤥
/ One may ask why so many Brexiters in Government felt the need to trash a report that the Government has prepared which confirms what the Government knew before the referendum - that Brexit will be economically bad 🙄
/ One may ask why is the Government pursuing a path that is not in the national interest especially when each MP has a duty to act in the national interest? 😢
/ And for Brexiter MPS one question for you. Based on the position you have led the UK into doesn't the following deal look quite good:
/ A deal where you had opt outs, control of your borders, a big rebate, voting rights over new laws, global influence & trade deals, a veto over future treaty change & new member states, the fastest growing economy in the G7 & which safeguarded the GFA 😱😱😱
/ Some MPs in the Government are slowly waking up to the fact you cannot run the biggest negotiation the UK has ever had on the basis of 🦄hot air, waffle, bullshit and lies
/ Some MPs in the Government are remembering they have a duty to act in the national interest 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
/ And for those MPs not persuaded by the economic evidence 🤪🤪🤪one may reasonably ask if the Government published a referendum leaflet that omitted key information on which the people were asked to make a decision, would that affect your implementation of their decision 🤔
/ Where does it explain the impact leaving the EU will have on the GFA and peace in Ireland 🔬
/ Where does it explain the impact leaving the EU will have on the UK's democratic process - eg GOV being taken to court for trying to bypass PARL, bribing the DUP, lying to the public about the existence of impact assessments, fiddling majorities on PARL committees,...
/ the growing influence of the ERG at DEXEU and who refuse to list their members or where they get cash from, the failure to condemn attacks on judges, the proposed use of Henry 8 powers so 1 person can change a law affecting everyone in the UK?
/ Where does it explain the risk to the availability of energy and medicine post- Brexit?
/ Where does it explain that 759 agreements will need to be renegotiated in a 2 year period?
/ Where does it explain that the GOV will trigger the article 50 notice with no impact assessments or agreed plan?
/ Where does it explain that the GOV will still not have an agreed plan on Brexit 18 months after the vote and 10 months after triggering a 2 year clock?
/ If that is an informed decision then I am a 🦄who only eats innovative jam 🍓
