1/ Decentralized exchange will be one of the breakout applications of crypto in 2018.

It’s rapidly advancing around user experience, liquidity, and enabling new applications that weren’t previously possible.

2/ As far as I can tell, @0xproject is currently leading the space by exchange volume, # of apps built, and # of devs in the ecosystem.

3/ Decentralized exchanges like @RadarRelay, @ddex_io, @ParadexIO — all built on @0xProject — provide beautiful interfaces and somewhat easy to use experiences to exchange value.

4/ Ex: @RadarRelay lets you complete transactions right out of your @LedgerHQ
hardware wallet. It’s magical, and because your tokens never touch an exchange you don’t expose yourself to custody risk.

5/ Ex: Easytrade.io — a decentralized @ShapeShift_io equivalent — lets you trade instantly by tapping into the @0xproject protocol’s aggregated liquidity.

6/ While overall exchange volume is still light ($422k in last 24H for 0x), the necessary infrastructure and applications to grow it are rapidly evolving.

7/ As more centralized exchanges get hacked and customer funds get stolen, exchange volume will move to decentralized equivalents as a safer alternative.

8/ Today, the usecase focuses on exchanging fungible ERC20 tokens without having to trust a 3rd party for custody. Tomorrow, secondary protocols/apps will be built on it: @DharmaProtocol - tokenized debt ; @dydxprotocol - derivatives; @projectopensea - cryptocollectibles, etc

9/ 2018 is going to be a big year for decentralized exchange 🚀
