A reminder: teenagers, college students and even children have put their bodies behind movements that have saved the souls of nations. Ours included. thedailybeast.com/how-the-childr…
The Civil Rights Movement was a young people's movement. Teenagers and college kids sat in; @repjohnlewis was all of 23 when he spoke at the March on Washington as a leader of SNCC (all of them college kids). SNCC's adult adviser was Ella Baker, who was just 32.
Dr. King was in his 20s when he started as a Civil Rights leader and was just 39 when he died -- younger than Jay Z. The idea that even a powerful lobby like the gun lobby can stop this Parkland movement because they are kids is absurd. Kids won in Soweto. Kids won in Birmingham.
Your best best is to believe these kids can win.
