With all the talk of AR-15s just being another gun I feel like I should address that. First off, the AR-15 is basically a copy of the M4/M16 in looks and functionality.

Now, I was trained how to use both the M4 and M16. It's amazing, it's light, accurate, durable, has little to no recoil, and it's easy to clean.
Part of training was shooting these weapons, we shot at targets shaped like people. Not deer, or wildlife people. We shot for center mass because that's your best chance to hit your target.
We didn't walk around with our weapons during training. Unless we are simulating a combat zone. The rest of the time these weapons remain locked up in the armory.
The only time we had rounds was on the range and we got patted down when we left to make sure no one had any on them. These weapons are dangerous, they didn't want anyone getting hurt.
The point I'm trying to make with this is that these guns are damn fun to shoot, yet they are designed to kill humans. They have a purpose and it's not to hunt deer or ducks.
Hell the MPs I met didn't carry M4s they carried a side arm. Because you only need a weapon like the M4 when fighting wars.
So, I'm not against gun ownership. I am however against civilians owning a weapon of war. There is a reason the AR-15 is popular with mass shooters. It's good at what it does, killing people.
The fact I can go buy one at Wal-Mart today is a problem. It's time we fixed this problem. #VetsForGunReform
So, I think I goofed on this one. Wal-Mart may have stopped selling the AR-15 in 2015. I don't shop at Wal-Mart so this may not be accurate.
