The dishonesty of Brexit is insupportable.

Hiding behind a veil of negotiating secrecy means the country can’t analyse, openly & transparently, the hugely complex problems at stake.

Mansion House created multiples of further questions.

But it seems our govt has closed ears.

To take just 1 issue - the proposed multiple sectoral agreements in place of a Single Market. What of the mechanism to adjudicate. Or the regulatory systems required. Or the cost of contribution. Or the new red tape. Or the actual loss of control & influence at the table. /2

Let’s try another. The dishonesty surrounding EU Charter. It’s a political decision to remove it from retained EU law. Or else why do it now?

Keep it in & then discuss how best we keep rights. Don’t lose them now. /3

Let’s take a 3rd.

Publish the #impactassessments.

You can’t freeze the wretched “will of the people” phrase in June 2016. Amongst a plethora of twisted truths.

Give democracy meaning.

Give a decision-maker the power of knowledge. /4

I could keep going, but I’ve been on the same record for nearly 21 months.

#MansionHouse would have been stg 18 months ago.

But the hard truths still aren’t being spelled out.

The hard truth that there’s no easy or painless way of leaving. Esp with these ruinous red lines.
