UK has not done 1) or 2). It has given no guarantee at all--just stated its general policy is that if the US was to ask to kill Assange they would ask for life imprisonment instead. and for 2) it explicitly states it refuses to confirm or deny

Fake news campaign conducted by Ecuador to try and pacify its population into accepting his extradition to US by falsely claiming money spent spying on him was to protect him, has lots of rooms, own bathroom, etc. All false.
For example: The image is a malicious fabrication that doubles the size of everything. In fact, the Ecuadorian embassy is only to the left of the steps. Colombia is to the right. His "bedroom" in number (4) is in a different location and is 6.5m^2. Several rooms made up.
Rooms 4 and 5 literally belong to the Colombian embassy.

One reason for skepticism from the Right was that a special prosecutor can be spun as political.
2/ Each of impeachment was spun as political, and no president has been removed because 2/3 of the senate is required & senate trials happen in the Court of Public Opinion. And, well, politics.

In fact, Trump treats the Mueller probe like a PR problem instead of a legal problem.
