Prosecutors are accusing Magomedov, wearing a tracksuit and sneakers, of stealing more than 2bn rubles. He was about to fly to Miami when he was arrested yesterday. Now he faces more than 10 years in prison
Magomedov, accused of stealing 2.5bn rubles, says he will put up that amount in cash as bail to prove his innocence. “All these lines from the investigators don’t stand up to any criticism,” he says.
