.A young low qualified mother eg little chance even if spouse has high earning potential. No spouse means *more* risk she will become 'drain on taxpayers'..Costs for 2.5 year visa approx 1800 inc NHS and any mistakes in huge application requirements no refund 'tough luck'. 3/
A high earner abroad who weds a non EU will find cannot move family to UK even with a job offer way above minimum income rule....he/she must earn it for 6 months before application allowed (effectively exiling Brits permanently unless want to sacrifice family life 4/
or 7 months minimum)...If you have own home in eg rural Wales but earn 18550 not enough (unless sell home to make it liquid asset) but rent in middle of London and earn 18600 you can apply. Up until now EU FoM rules protect EU27 citz and UK citz using *same* rules 5/
by moving to another state (not your own) for a qualifying period (in theory only 3 months but of course HO abuse/hinder these rights too) who can then return to UK protected under the "Surrinder Singh" ruling. Cost for EU spouse resident card in tens by comparison 6/
