But new studies suggest that anything below 7h is just not enough to function properly in the world.

▪️DELUSIONS. You believe things that can't possibly be true.
▪️DISORIENTATION. You get confused about time, place, and person.
▪️AMNESIA. You forget things easily.
▪️EMOTIONS. You have wildly fluctuating emotions.
▪️COGNITIVE BIASES. You’re more prone to defaulting to mental heuristics.
▪️RISK. You’re more likely to take bigger risks and accept gambles that would be unacceptable otherwise.
Not to mention the elevated risk of Alzheimer, diabetes, cancer… Essentially, a consistent lack of sleep predicts that you’re going to die early.
