The rapid rise of the "Tax Payers Alliance" on prominent BBC politics panels is massively worrying and should be challenged ... they're an anonymously funded far-right wing think tank, not a grass-roots popular movement as their name implies. #Marr
Chloe Westley has been on Question Time, Daily Politics and now #Marr ... she's not given great performances despite clear media training. Taxpayers alliance clearly want people to pay almost no taxes ... sounds great until you think about it for a second 👎 bye bye NHS.
From her performances, she's clearly not an expert on economics. She's representing an organisation with unknown backers and no political mandate. So why are you giving Chloe Westley all this airtime, @BBCPolitics ?
After a little more digging - The Taxpayers Alliance, far from being an alliance of tax-payers, is part of a beguiling "think-tank" organisations all of which are run by the same men at 55 Tufton Street, London - all these organisations are close to prominent Tory MPs and ex-MPs.
It's interesting to note that there's nowhere on the taxpayers alliance website that tells taxpayers how they can join this "so called" alliance. It's also interesting to note it's charitable status, meaning it pays no tax!
It's also interesting to note that the man who founded the Taxpayers Alliance, the Conservative Matthew Elliott, was also the chief executive of Vote Leave.
For further information about how the Taxpayers Alliance funnels donations via a charity they set up to cheat the taxpayer. See here: waitingfortax.com/2016/06/01/the…
Interesting! As well as being the address of the Taxpayers Alliance, 55 Tufton St. is also home to:

GWPF (Nigel Lawson's climate change deniers)

Leave Means Leave (Dedicated to hardest Brexit possible)

Civitas (Toby Young's "classical liberal" free school promoting gang)
I note that the @BBCr4today programme is, at this very moment, talking to a representative of another right-wing think tank based at 55 Tufton Street ... Big Brother Watch, set up by Taxpayers Alliance founder Matthew Elliott. Always on the BBC in some form!
Interestingly, key player in this whole story, Matthew Elliott, co-founder of the Taxpayers Alliance & Big Brother Watch, campaign director of NOtoAV in 2011, CEO of Vote Leave, press officer for the European foundation, has some close links to Russia! badboysofbrexit.com/2017/12/22/mat…
It has come to my attention that Richard Smith, the owner of 55 Tufton Street and trustee of PERT (a "charity" formerly the Taxpayers Alliance Research Trust) donated £150,000 to the Labour Leave group (co-chaired by Kate Hoey and John Mills) in the run-up to the referendum.
