We know that top campaign officials, including Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner, did NOT reject offers of election assistance from a hostile foreign government. In fact, they showed frustration that more damaging information wasn’t being produced. feinstein.senate.gov/public/_cache/…
The White House and Donald Trump Jr. misled the public about the June 9 meeting with Russians and other contacts with Russia. The extent of the president’s involvement in drafting Trump Jr.’s statement remains unknown despite initial claims that the president wasn’t involved.
These preliminary findings raise many significant questions about the June 9 meeting in Trump Tower & other contacts between the Trump campaign & Russian associates. The Sen. Judiciary Committee must thoroughly investigate these questions and follow the fact wherever they lead.
Outstanding questions include the full extent of the campaign’s involvement with Russia, whether campaign agreed to work with a hostile foreign power to influence the 2016 election, & why the campaign & President misled the American people about their relationships with Russia.
