/ Lessons I've learned, a thread
/ Be present. Presence allows me to listen more intently, ask better questions, and make the other person felt heard.
/ Life is a single-player game. I am where I am now because of the decisions I made and didn’t make. I have no one to blame, no reason to complain, and the ability to choose the game.
/ Spend more time perfecting desires. I find myself asking, “why am I doing this?” more. I do this to become aware of what I’m chasing. If I can't adequately answer why? I stop.
/ Communication is hard. To communicate I need to be present, put aside my ego to listen, and find the right words/tones/gestures to convey my message accurately to the other person.
/ Do things with less emotion. The more outcome independent I become the better the outcome becomes. Doing things with less emotion normalizes the highs and lows of life.
/ Independent thinking starts with independent learning. To think for myself I must first start to learn by myself. Learning what I want to learn, when I want to learn it, the way I want to learn it.
/ Being busy isn’t the same as being productive. “A busy mind accelerates the passage of subjective time.” Understand what you’re doing and why you’re doing it. It’s too easy to forget.
/ All conflict is internal conflict. For example: If someone yells at me, it’s my fault for letting the yelling affect me. My insecurity allowed for the other person’s words to pierce through.
