I keep hearing the same mantra from @JustinTrudeau about vaccination uptake in Canada.

"Canadians stepped up and did the right thing."

I thought I would make a 🧵 of what voluntary means in Canada in 2022.
Do you want to board a domestic or international flight, or travel by VIA rail in Canada?

Then you must be vaccinated.

There are only a few limited exemptions, oh and by the way if you lie about them you could be charged with a criminal offence or fined.

The previous tweet is just for traveling in Canada. More on that later.

But look at the dystopian hassle you have to go through even if you are a vaccinated citizen returning to your own country.

If nicotine vapes ("e-cigarettes") are, in fact, safer than smoking, and help smokers quit, they are (obviously) profoundly different from recreational drugs like alcohol, caffeine & cannabis.

So, what if we just ask ex-smokers who vape how they're doing?

Among ex-smokers who quit by switching to nicotine vapes, 93% say their health improved. 62% say "improved dramatically." The 5% who said "no change" said "I was healthy to begin with."

Healthier. This is so different from daily screaming headlines.
Among ex-smokers who quit by switching to nicotine vapes ("e-cigarettes"), 90% say they now have fewer and less sever lung infections. We're healthier. Does no one care?

Confirmed by these peer-reviewed studies.……

La réalité : « It’s complicated » #OVHOutage

Just had a wild idea, so bear with me:
Imagine an #opensource #cryptocrowdfunding model for software products, the kind you buy from @awscloud @Azure @GCPcloud and also the smaller players like @digitalocean and @Rackspace m, where there are no hardware licenses. 1/
You don’t even have to run the software or have access to the hardware running it in this model. Instead of #softwarelicensing, #developers set #crypto #staking thresholds which act as #digitalaccesscontroltokens; #stake x of whichever #Crypto, or y of another, with a discount 2/
when using the project’s #sidechain. So you get staking setup, and essentially get #APIkeys which allow you to join the network in r/w mode. Or you could say to heck with all that, I just want to pay someone. You can pay the network directly to do the work the software does. 3/

Chapter 14: American Bloodline

Welcome back! We’re going to start with a little recap because we know some of this (or all of it) is new material for much of our audience and we want to make it easier to enjoy.

We’ve talked about the Army adopting the Pentomic concept in the late 1950s. The term “Pentomic Division” was used to represent the new structure, containing five subordinate units, with the purpose of maintaining functionality across domains.

It’s time for my traditional train Twitter thread after @MunSecConf. As our Chairman @ischinger said, we’re all tired now. But the most important thing is that we had a weekend of vivid debates! #MSC2020
I’m glad that the title of our #MSCreport#Westlessness – triggered some of them. We think of the MSR as a conversation starter for the conference, and it worked well this year – in particular because some thought it accurately described the zeitgeist, and others disagreed.
Are you still wondering – like my my two-year old (“Papa, was soll das heißen?"| "Dad, what does this even mean?”) – what this term is meant to convey? You can re-watch my presentation of the #MSCreport in Berlin. #Westlessness…

🔥 Thread about how the 'selling' Of Obamacare, how it started
A big issue Obama campaigned on was “fixing” healthcare
Consumer pricing was continuing to increase while the quality of the plans were decreasing.
“Fixes” being debated. Defined here directionally, not precisely...
Rx: (re)importation & negotiation.
Healthcare structures:
MEDICARE FOR ALL: total restructure of healthcare
SINGLE PAYER: Gov pays hospitals/doctors directly, doesn't own/employ
PUBLIC OPTION: Medicare-like alternative to private insurer was the popular compromise
Obama filled key spots to his admin:
Kathleen Sebelius: Sec of Health and Human Services, Cabinet position.
It could make or break any industry and any company

Marilyn Tavenner: CMS Dep. Administrator. In 2013 became dept head. Medicare tzar, oversees $1t, reports to Sebelius

Oh hello Labour councillor and LGBT officer Stephanie Dale who locked her account,

I have screenshots of the tweets in which you were pointed to the thread of a woman who got rape and death threats, to which you replied she deserved it.

And what women do you represent?
For 48 years, her dainty feminine soul, trapped in the wrong body, waited for the right occasion to express her femininity by telling a woman stalked & threatened with rape & death in the middle of the night:

"Poke a hornets nest long enough, you'll get stung!!
And of course there's a documentary in which brave and stunning Stephanie makes an appearance.
How could there not be?…

Let’s be clear. The .@FBI is already conducting #BrettKavanuagh background check. Same for all Supreme Court nominees. #ChristineBlaseyFord is simply asking that they include her claim in their normal course of work, so that the facts that Kavanaugh is judged by are confirmed. 1/
27 years ago the White House ordered the FBI to investigate #AnitaHill’s claim against @JusticeThomas67. This is #BASIC. The investigation was complete within 3 days. 2/
GOP is saying #ChristineBlaseyFord “is in no position” to dictate parameters of her testimony. #NO! 37 yrs ago Blasey Ford was #innoposition to control her attackers. Today she is standing in her power. She is demanding basic respect. #FACTSFIRSTTHENHEARING #dealwithit #SCOTUS 3/

Non mais c'est pas un jugement. Vous avez parfaitement le droit de tweeter des conneries. Je respecte ça.
