You want to pay N5,000 as tuition, you don’t want to pay for electricity or convert to proper meter that produces the accurate electricity used and you get billed. But you want Nigeria to progress.

Fight me if you like. Nigeria will not progress with tuition of 10k, 30k.

Shocked I am being called elitist over this short thread. I don’t know how an average Nigerian like myself can be elitist.
Basic education (Primary/Secondary) should be 100% FREE.
Convert Polytechnics to Universities. Turn them to Universities of Science & Tech
Improve the standards of all FG Unis (States will catch up)

Charge University students N100, 000 to start with
Make student loans available.
Invest massively in Vocational Schools.

Encourage Apprenticeships. (The Igbo Apprenticeship is working excellently, introduce it nationally into our education curriculum)

Train Lecturers

Give grants to graduating students who want to start businesses.

Rework and delete NYSC.
Increase minimum wage from the ridiculous, shameful, disgraceful and embarrassing N18,000

Cut allowances of public officials and redirect saved monies to education and health

Build Youth Hubs and Employability Centres all over the country

Get the best brains in our classrooms.

Sometimes it’s an uncle investing in you, or someone giving you a chance or offering you a skill training. Sometimes it’s even as small as someone giving you transport money to that first interview.

If at almost 50 you are waking up by 4/5am and first thing is to get on twitter to abuse someone you are perhaps 20 years older than, I think your life is messed up and you need to rework your priorities and life goals.
At 4/5 am you should be cuddling your madam or your bestie should be playing with your beard, at 6am, getting the kids ready for school or praying for the success of your family. Not getting on social media to throw insults repeatedly over divergent opinions of other people.
"A fool at 40 is a fool forever." May God help us, may we not be fools when we advance in age. May we not daily embarrass and belittle ourselves at almost 50 over disagreements on social media. May foolishness and idiotic behaviour depart from our doorstep as we advance in age.

2007: Maj Gen Joseph Ayango #Aondo (rtd) was #killed in the federal capital, #Abuja, 14 June 2007. He had been chairman of the political campaign group, #Yar'Adua Associates, was seized at the entrance to his house, driven 5km on the Kubwa expressway, then shot dead in his car.

#Nigeria the Budget Office put out 2017 fiscal accounts which showed that FY deficit came in at NGN3.8tr (3.3% of nom GDP) and above the 3% fiscal responsibility act. As usual revenues missed thanks to usual over-optimistic non-oil rev assumptions and higher JV payments
But interestingly, capex spending came in a record NGN1.44tr (1.3% of GDP and around 66% of target) with overall budget execution at 87% suggesting some credibility in implementation despite the costs driven by higher drawdowns by Works, Power and Housing
Debt service/revenues printed at 69% (adjusted for sinking fund payments to retire debt 60%) but up from the 47% in 2016. Overall debt tracked higher due to increasingly more expensive borrowings over the last three years - a derivative of CBN tightening.

My daughter's princess dress was made and sent from Lagos on Thursday, it was for Eid, I saw the dress on a WhatsApp profile, it was beautiful and I wanted it for her. The Peace Transport Service was the preferred means to get the dress to Abuja in time for the Eid celebrations.
I was at the transport company very early on Friday, but asked to return in the evening, same day. We were lucky we had a plan b for yesterday. The first day of Eid went well. This morning, the little girl woke me up to get her dress, I dashed out to the Peace Park in Utako.
Confidently, I read out my way bill number to the desk staff. To my shock, I was told, "Oga your parcel is still on the way from Lagos." But it was registered and sent since Thursday morning from Lagos, Nigeria? He replied, "yes, but it hasn't arrived Abuja come back tomorrow."
