As I was looking into who is profiting from these detention centers for immigrants I came across the GEO Group. Most of the info is from 2017 and they donated heavily to groups backing Trump after the Obama admin announced it would phase out private prisons in August of 2016.

Profiting off those seeking a better life is big business with help from the Trump admin. South West Key, who run the child detention centers in Texas will be discussed later in thread. I hope someone with better research skills and time will delve deeper into this issue.

Funding for South West Key comes from donations, state funding and The U.S. Office of Refugees Resettlement. I searched the ORR site and the latest information for Texas programs and most state programs is for 2013/2014.

Trump, the GOP and now apparently a child advocacy non profit organization are complicit in the suffering and at times inhuman treatment of those seeking safety and a better life for their families.

Trump and Republican policy of child separation, incarceration and profiting from human suffering goes against everything this country stands for and has to be stopped. There are better ways to deal with immigration, Trump's admin appears to be not interested in human methods.

Another defense contractor that was pointed out to me by @tamarabrock in a Daily Beast article, MVM a federal security contractor, has had contracts in the past with Home Land Security/ICE and this could give them an advantage for the new contract.
