I’m not sure what’s changed. But this weekend is the first time that I’ve genuinely come to believe that a huge portion of America would accept Fascist-style tyranny. And I’ve never before thought that in my life. Not even for a second. And I’m 52.

The same day the President rages against due process & courts & the rule of law, polls show that 90% of GOP approve of Trump.

I’ve never felt more disconnected from more other Americans.

And more confused by the acceptance of behavior I’ve thought anathema to being American

Children are separated from families- no one cares

Babies are put in cages-no one cares

The President wants to rid of us of law, of courts, of due process- no one cares

He scapegoats foreigners for supposed crimes- no one cares

Does anyone care anymore?

Article after article, the more “liberals” are outraged by family separation, the more delighted the GOP becomes. The more they rally around Trump.

Americans are enjoying children being stripped from their parents?

They like a leader saying we shouldn’t use laws or courts?

Are there actually Americans who’d rather have a “strong leader” than rule of law. Than a free unfettered press. Than traditional trade and security alliances w liberal democratic allies. Than civility & decency & compassion.

Never been more confused by what Americans want

We have a president who makes up crime waves by foreign hordes to justify draconian measures

We have a president with indisputable proof our elections were interfered with by a foreign adversary & doesn’t care

Truth doesn’t matter. Nothing seems to matter
